Everton have enjoyed some good news lately after Mason Holgate penned his future for another five years at the club. However, many fans are still hoping Carlo Ancelotti will do some serious business this summer and this particular rumour has fans divided.
The Toffees are linked with Napoli’s highly established centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly (via Gazzetta dello Sport). The 6 ft 1 beast (2.5 tackles per game) was reportedly on the radar of rivals Liverpool last year as a potential defensive partner for Virgil van Dijk, but the talks proved to be merely hearsay.
Now, in an exciting turn of events, Koulibaly may be heading to Merseyside after all, but not to wear red. Napoli are also rumoured to be in talks with Bayern Munich and Manchester United meaning Everton face real competition. This hasn’t stopped several fans from getting excited, though, with one predicting ‘anything is possible’ with Ancelotti at the hilt.
Others, however, aren’t sold at all on the speculation and have shut down the rumours already.
