Everton fans have been having their say on Director of Football Marcel Brands and would not be surprised if he left the club due to the current managerial situation.
Marco Silva was recently sacked as the club’s manager after a 5-2 defeat to neighbours Liverpool at Anfield, resulting in his team dropping into the relegation zone.
Duncan Ferguson was handed the reins at Goodison Park until a permanent manager was found, guiding his side to a memorable 3-1 win against Chelsea on Saturday.
There was an element of uncertainty about who in the Everton boardroom is taking responsibility in finding the club’s new boss, with reports suggesting that the board were at odds over the decision-making process.
This meant undermining the role of Brands, with the board pulling in different directions to try and find a successor.
Supporters believed that they would not be surprised if Brands left the Merseyside club, making their feelings clear on social media.
Here you will find some of the many worried comments from Everton fans:
Agree. If Moyes comes in against his will I can only see him resigning. That would be the worst bit about a Moyes return. Would take the club back 15 years, possibly even into the championship

If it’s true Moshiri has taken on the job of recruiting the next #Everton Manager, then where does that leave Brands?
You don’t hire one of best DoFs in football if you are going to take footballing matters away from him. If I were Brands, I would consider my position untenable. pic.twitter.com/Hl9uZ0p5Fk

If #Everton do appoint David Moyes today, even short term then it will show a MASSIVE lack of ambition and will show just how out of touch with supporters they can be.
Marcel Brands should be leading this process. He is the football man, not Kenwright or Moshiri.

I think Marcel Brands will probably be leaving the club soon.
Why stay when you can’t do your job the way you want? Why stay when you’re not empowered you do your job and you know you’re great at it?

Absolutely agree unless FM ran the option of CA by him 1st or vice versa 🤷♂️ who knows but we’ve been here before on numerous occasions now with FM and it’s becoming embarrassing 🙄

Wouldn’t blame Brands if he walked,If as the media stories are to be believed he has zero involvement in picking Silva’s replacement it’s ridiculous. Moshiri needs to stay out of all the football decisions.
