Everton fans have been reacting to whether or not they would take back former Toffees defender John Stones.
The newly-appointed manager Carlo Ancelotti is believed to have made three players available to raise significant funds for transfers (as per the Daily Star, via Express) after it was revealed that the club had made a substantial loss of revenue in the past 12 months.
John Stones, who moved to Manchester City for £47.5m in 2016, has not been a regular first-team player for Pep Guardiola’s side following his first season at the club and has not surpassed 24 appearances since, as per TransferMarkt.
If there’s anyone who wouldn’t take John Stones back at Everton, please have a look at the club’s defenders and their general performances since he left. #EFC

Stones was brought to Goodison Park from Barnsley in 2013 for £3m and went on to make 95 appearances for the Merseysiders and has gone on to feature 123 times for the Citizens, as per TransferMarkt. With some Manchester City fans believing that he should be replaced (via Manchester Evening News) and recent reports suggesting he could indeed leave the Etihad, Toffees fans discussed whether or not Stones should return to Everton, with mixed results.

The concern is that we keep signing players who lack the mental toughness to survive at elite clubs. That, more than anything, leads to the type of capitulation we saw last Sunday
