After Everton midfielder Andre Gomes posted an update on his recovery process through Twitter, fans have since gone on to be delighted with the player’s joy and how he is thriving through rehabilitation – prompting a lot of them to hail the former Barcelona man for his positivity.
Gomes, who suffered a nasty ankle injury in his last outing for the Toffees during their 1-1 draw with Spurs back in early November, has been on the treatment table since Heung-min Son’s challenge near the touchline resulted in the Spaniard being stretchered off.
Striker Cenk Tosun went on to grab a dramatic 97th-minute equaliser with what would have made all the headlines, but sadly Gomes’ horrific-looking injury took precedence due to its brutal nature. Since, Carlo Ancelotti’s side have appeared to miss the midfielder’s influence, with current partnership Tom Davies and Gylfi Sigurdsson not being able to replicate his superior pass success rate.
Indeed, the duo have amassed a 76.7% and an 81.7% average respectively this season in the league, while Gomes managed 83.4% when he was playing regularly, as per WhoScored.com. Furthermore, not one player can match his number of dribbles per game (2.3), so it’s clear to see he can bring something different to the team.
