Many Everton fans have been discussing Toffees journalist Patrick Boyland’s tweet involving Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, following his performance in the north London derby this weekend.
Hojbjerg was linked with a move to Everton, who were also said to be in talks for the Danish midfielder in the summer. Spurs signed him on a five-year deal and the midfielder featured for the Lilywhites against Arsenal in the North London derby on Sunday.
The former Southampton man picked up the third-highest rating for Spurs (7.63) in the game in what was an impressive performance from him. Only Son Heung-Min and Harry Kane picked up higher ratings than him in the game (as per Whoscored).
Should Everton regret missing out on Hojbjerg?
Yes
No
Boyland’s tweet concerned Hojbjerg, as he said that the midfielder could’ve made a lot of difference in the Everton midfield, if the Toffees had signed him in the summer.
The Athletic journalist’s tweet caught the attention of many Everton fans, who began talking about Hojbjerg and whether he could’ve made a difference for their side or not. Some supporters compared him to summer signing Allan, who after a superb start has slightly dipped in form over the last few weeks.

I’d have him over Allan

I watch him and Phillips at Leeds and I gently weep that we don’t have either one of them in our side.

Remember when a lot of Everton fans were writing him off after just an average debut https://t.co/vdWUvQv3Nh

Spurs’ Hojbjerg… Yes.
We’d have turned him into the second coming of Alex Nyarko.
