Everton: Echo Falls tweet amuses many Toffees supporters

A new Everton inside joke has emerged after a Blues fan gave James Rodriguez a bottle of Echo Falls wine after their win against West Brom.

The video of the Evertonian has done the rounds on Twitter to such a degree that the official club account is now in on the joke. Additionally, Echo Falls themselves are buying into the camaraderie, as they have tweeted a personalised Everton ad featuring their signature ‘Up the Toffees’ slogan.

Rodriguez joined the Merseyside outfit on a free contract earlier this month, becoming another addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s growing squad.

Despite not featuring much last season due to injury, the Colombia international has an impressive goalscoring record. He has a total of 105 goals and 126 assists in his career and has started his Everton career with a goal and an assist in his two appearances so far (via Transfermarkt).

Many Toffees fans enjoyed the sentiment from Echo Falls and have flocked to the comments to show their appreciation. One supporter has said they have ‘a lot of time for this’, with another tweeting ‘count me in’ as someone who in on board the wine train.
