Everton: Fans forget that Jean-Philippe Gbamin exists

Some Everton fans had completely forgotten about Jean-Philippe Gbamin, who has been out with a muscle injury.

The 24-year-old, who joined the Toffees for £25m in the summer, has been out since October after undergoing surgery on his thigh but is expected to return in the next few weeks.

The Ivorian featured as a substitute against Crystal Palace on the Premier League’s opening weekend and then started in his side’s 1-0 win against Watford.

Due to his long-term injury and with so much going at the club with an array of managerial changes and poor results, Gbamin had slipped the mind of many fans. However, they were reminded as manager Carlo Ancelotti gave an update in his press conference.

Supporters were thankful for the reminder that Gbamin was a Blues player and made their feelings clear on social media.

Here you will find some of the best comments from Everton fans on Twitter:

Journalism graduate from the University of Chester. Joined Transfer Tavern in October 2020. Liverpool fan based in the north-west who will not hear a bad word said about Lucas Leiva. Gained experience with Manchester Futsal Club and 90MIN. Strongly disapproves of short corners and foul throws.
