Everton: Fans fume at ‘cursed’ Cenk Tosun injury news

Everton’s Cenk Tosun has suffered a serious knee injury whilst on loan with Crystal Palace. Eagles fans will naturally be gutted over the news, but the Toffees are equally as devastated, though not for the same reasons…

Tosun injured his knee in training and could be looking at a hefty six months on the sidelines as the club waits to confirm the severity of the situation (via Daily Mail).

The Turkish striker joined Crystal Palace on loan in January to help bolster their attack, but he has only managed five appearances for the Eagles, scoring the one goal (via Transfermarkt).

While Palace fans worry over the health of their front-man, Everton fans are more put out that they will not be able to offload the 28-year-old in the summer. Given his lack of game-time on Merseyside, the idea of selling him in the summer for a potential £20m fee may have been appealing, but his injury means he will not be fit to make any sort of move in the transfer window.

Many Evertonians are frustrated with the news, with one supporter claiming the club is ‘cursed’.

We either buy players who seem to get injured for us near enough straight away or we cant cant shut of our deadwood cos they get injured at there loan club were nearly always so unlucky in that respect 😩
