Everton can be relatively pleased with their start to the new season having taken five points from their first three Premier League fixtures and progressed into the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The Toffees saw off the challenge of Rotherham after beating the Championship side 3-1 courtesy of goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin (2x) and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Overall, it was a good attacking display from Marco Silva’s men. And, despite conceding a goal, Everton’s back four can also be content with their performance.
£13.5m-rated (via Transfermarkt) Kurt Zouma, who was making his first start for the club since joining on loan from Chelsea, in particular, looked solid.
Prior to the beginning of the summer transfer window, Everton looked really weak in central defence, but the addition of Zouma has given the team a much needed boost in that department.
