Loads of Everton fans have praised Abdoulaye Doucoure as football journalist Mansour Loum confirmed in a tweet that the midfielder has rejected an international call-up from Mali.

Indeed, the 27-year old has played for the French national team at various youth levels but has never played for Les Bleus’ senior team, according to Transfermarkt.

However, he also qualifies to play for the Mali international side, but has chosen to reject their advances in the hope that he will be called up for France and perhaps break into their squad in time for the European Championship next summer.
Doucoure has been enjoying a great debut season for the Merseyside club so far, winning a rather impressive 3.5 of his duels a game in the Premier League while also averaging two tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 1.8 key passes per match, as per Sofascore.
