Lots of Everton fans are lauding the latest transfer update on Branislav Ivanovic as the Liverpool Echo have reported that the Merseyside club are not interested in signing the former Chelsea ace in the summer transfer window.
Indeed, this is a contradiction to a recent report that the Toffees were interested in his services, but it seems as if those links have now been played down.

If Ivanovic were to sign, then he would be re-joining up with his ex-manager Carlo Ancelotti, for whom he played in 89 games in all competitions across two consecutive seasons at Stamford Bridge, scoring a rather impressive seven goals and making a further 13 assists from defence, according to Transfermarkt.

However, being 36 years of age now, perhaps the Serbian would no longer have the legs to cope with the sheer intensity of the Premier League, and thus maybe it is wise for the Blues to not make a move for the Zenit St. Petersburg man.
These members of the Goodison Park faithful lauded the news on Twitter, as they perhaps think that Ivanovic’s best years are behind him:
Thank goodness for that.
