Plenty of Everton fans have been reacting to a piece of transfer news coming from Fabrizio Romano via his official Twitter account.

According to a tweet from the football journalist, James Rodriguez is not training with Real Madrid as there are talks proceeding between the Merseyside club and Los Blancos with the aim of reaching an agreement over a transfer in the summer window.

The Toffees are apparently still ‘confident’ that they will sign the 29-year old as Carlo Ancelotti had already contacted him a week ago. Indeed, Rodriguez is a man that the Blues have been chasing and a recent report has claimed that he has already agreed personal terms.

This would be a statement signing from Everton given the pedigree of the Colombian international, as he has two Champions League titles in addition to several other major trophies to his name, as per Transfermarkt.
