Plenty of Everton fans were quick to remind pundit Charlie Nicholas of his previous remarks about the club while the Toffees were searching for a new manager.
The former Arsenal striker previously suggested that the Blues’ fans were “tremendously cruel” when David Moyes was linked with a return to the side (as per Sky Sports via Goodison News), having managed the club between 2002 and 2013 and enjoyed a successful reign at Goodison Park. As reported by The Mirror, Goodison Park officials were made aware of the opinion that fans did not want to see the Scottish manager back in the hot seat.
The owners opted on being more ambitious and brought in the three-time Champions League-winning manager Carlo Ancelotti. Despite this, Nicholas stuck to his guns and insisted that the club made the wrong decision. Unsurprisingly, supporters were quick to remind Nicholas of what he said as the club are now competing for European football. One fan called him “clueless”, while another simply described him as an “idiot” for suggesting Moyes should have returned to Merseyside.

We’ve got a better manager now. No disrespect to Moyes for what he did but you cant compare him to Ancelotti..
