Everton supporters are in for a busy end to the transfer window with the Toffees still chasing players in multiple positions ahead of today’s five o’clock deadline.
The Merseyside club have spent much of the summer pursuing Barcelona’s Yerry Mina (via Daily Mirror) with manager Marco Silva identifying central defence as one area of his squad that desperately needs strengthening.
As well as in defence, Silva could also turn to Barcelona to improve his midfield with Andre Gomes rumoured to be a target.
The Daily Mail reports Everton are lining up a move to take the Portuguese playmaker on loan for a season.
Gomes, who is valued at £13.5m by Transfermarkt, has struggled at Barcelona since leaving Valencia for the Nou Camp back in 2016 and the arrival of Arturo Vidal would not have done him any favours.
Nevertheless, regardless of his struggles at the La Liga champions, Gomes is still a very good midfielder who would bring creativity to Everton in the middle of the park.
