Despite getting on the scoresheet in Everton’s 3-0 win over Fulham at Goodison Park last week, Cenk Tosun has had a tough start to the season.
The 27-year-old failed to score in any games prior during this campaign before eventually being dropped from the starting XI by manager Marco Silva.
And according to the Daily Mirror, the Toffees could now look to bring in Arsenal’s Danny Welbeck to bolster their options up front.
It is not clear if Everton will attempt to sign Welbeck in January or next summer, but the latter looks the more likely with the 27-year-old’s contract at the Emirates set to expire then.
Going forward, Welbeck is not the calibre of striker who can spearhead Everton into the Champions League — the club’s ultimate goal.
However, the England international could be a very good alternative to Tosun, especially if he continues to misfire.
Have a look at what Everton supporters are saying on Welbeck’s potential arrival at Goodison Park below…
