Everton splashed the cash this summer with the likes of Richarlison and Yerry Mina arriving at Goodison Park for big money.
It is not just the last transfer window, though, where Everton’s activity in the market has caught many people’s attention.
Since billionaire Farhad Moshiri became majority shareholder of the club back in 2016, players such as Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jordan Pickford and Cenk Tosun have also been brought in for large fees.
And Everton’s spending could further increase with Moshiri’s long-term business partner and fellow billionaire Alisher Usmanov having not ruled out the possibility of investing in the Toffees after selling his stake in Arsenal to Stan Kroenke (via Bloomberg).
Under Moshiri, a lot of Everton’s big-money signings have not worked out. But the Iranian has shown he is able to significantly back his managers in transfer windows so, with or without Usmanov, the Merseyside club look to be heading in the right direction.
