Everton: Fans question why Oumar Niasse is still at Goodison Park

Loads of Everton fans have reacted in frustration as their club cannot seem to part ways with striker Oumar Niasse.

The Toffees are looking to offload the Senegalese striker as part of the first phase of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad rebuild. His contract expires at the end of the season and interest is growing from Championship clubs for his services. However, he is refusing to drop down a division, according to The Daily Mirror (cited by HITC). They also claim that he could now move abroad on a free transfer in the summer.

Niasse, 29, signed for Everton in 2016 and the Blues paid £13.5m. In the past two seasons, he has only made eight appearances for the Merseyside club and played 13 times for Cardiff City during a six-month loan spell, as per TransferMarkt. He is now way down the pecking order at Goodison Park as this season looks to be his last for the club.

Supporters could not comprehend how he still played for the club and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan suggested that his contract should be cancelled immediately, while another stated that he is stealing a living.
