Everton: Fans react to throwback footage of the Goodison Park tunnel in the 1980s

Plenty of Everton fans have reacted to a throwback clip of the ball boys and players coming out of the tunnel at Goodison Park in the mid 1980s. 

The footage was posted by Everton Howard’s Way on Twitter with a caption that claimed that it must have been a blast being a ball boy for the Merseyside club in the 80s as they were allowed to wear ‘cool’ tracksuits. Some famous names associated with the Toffees were tagged in the post, including former goalkeeper Neville Southall.

The decade is known to be the most successful in the Blues’ history, as they boasted players like Southall, Graeme Sharp and Kevin Ratcliffe. EFC reached the FA Cup Final three times, winning it in 1984. In the next season, the club won the European Cup Winners Cup and League Championship double and then won the latter again in 1986/87, as per The Everton Collection.
