Everton: Fans rue international break after flurry of poor performances

It hasn’t been the best start to the season for Everton as they sit in the bottom three and it may have been made worse following some poor individual performances on the international stage.

This is also after Everton stormed the summer transfer market, spending big money on the likes of Moise Kean and Alex Iwobi in a bid to sure up their squad and possibly challenge for a place in the top six.

At the very start of the campaign, a lot of fans would have pegged Silva’s side as one of the favourites to break into the top six with pundits such as former manager Sam Allardyce predicting such a feat, and though there is still plenty of time to make that dream a reality, at the moment it’s looking dreary.

Supporters especially didn’t need a torrid international break, with one fan pointing out just how demolishing these matches have been to player confidence.

Taking to social media, one Evertonian pointed out some worrying statistics in a tweet, stating: “So Gylfi Sigurdsson missed a pen, Moise Kean got sent off, Seamus Coleman sent off tonight, Michael Keane dropped due to being dreadful. Nice break Everton, good confidence boost.”

Following the hilariously sarcastic statement, other supporters have joined in commenting on the unfortunate mishaps:
