Loads of Everton fans have been reacting to a rather alarming report from The Athletic, which claims that senior players rebelled against Duncan Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti after Sunday’s defeat at Anfield.
As if Toffees fans needed another reason to be infuriated by the current crop of players, it seems as if their response to Sunday’s derby embarrassment was to place the blame on the coaches instead of themselves.
According to The Athletic’s report, Ferguson gave some ‘home truths’ to the squad after the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool, arguing that they had thrown in the towel.
Senior players then refuted this, denying that they gave up during the FA Cup clash and instead blaming the tactics.

The coaching staff were reportedly shocked by their attitude, with Ancelotti taken aback by just how poor some of the players performed at Anfield.
Needless to say, fans are absolutely furious at their squad, and you can find some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
Cannot stress enough how much I want to find out who the senior players arguing back to Duncan Ferguson were. They should be chased out of the football club.
The management control a lot of things, but the players’ lack of effort is not one of them.

A mass chant of “your not fit to wear the shirt” should be in order on Saturday. These players need to know we’re not having this. Enough with the “get behind the team” nonsense. They’ve had it too easy for too long

Belter. Get rid of every single player who thinks that they performed well on Sunday, because that’s nowhere near the level of player I want to see in an Everton shirt.

I could name the players who blamed the tactics and it’s the same players who need to be bin bagged and have been a disease in the club since they joined from day 1

That Athletic article is the worst thing I have read about Everton since I can remember. Not the article but the attitude of the players. There is no way back from that! They will never learn. Only way is to bin them and replace with the likes of Gordon who will play for the club

This is even more shocking than the performance. Personally, I wouldn’t play any of them “senior players” again 🤬

Sack them all and start again 🤦🏼♂️
