Everton fans shuddered over the thought of former boss David Moyes making a return to the Goodison Park dugout.
Following the dismissal of Marco Silva in December, the Scottish coach was heavily linked with a return to Merseyside, with some saying that taking a step back would mean taking the stride forwards, as per BBC Sport. The 56-year-old spent over 10 years at the club and averaged 1.53 points per game, according to TransferMarkt.
Moyes eventually made the return to West Ham United, who now sit in the relegation zone. Whereas Everton have been in superb form and find themselves just four points off the European places. Unsurprisingly, supporters were delighted that Moyes did not return and made their feelings clear about him on social media. One fan said that the thought was too horrifying to think about.
