Plenty of Everton fans have slammed Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian for his stance on Jordan Pickford as he spoke to Sky Sports about the 26-year-old’s challenge on Virgil van Dijk.
Indeed, the ‘ridiculous’ tackle forced the Liverpool defender off with an injury, but no red card was given to Pickford and no retrospective action has been taken on the England international.

When speaking to Sky Sports about the challenge, Adrian said:
“I am a goalkeeper and I always defend the goalkeepers, but going for a ball like this is not fair. In that situation, he has not many chance to block the ball – just hurting the other player.”
Indeed, it is a bold statement to make from the 33-year-old, and it will perhaps not help his cause that he is talking about a player from their Merseyside rivals.

Whether Pickford should have gone in for the challenge is up for debate, but the controversy continues a week after the incident.

Probably attempting to gain some popularity with their cult like supporters by toeing the party line. Also after recent inept displays and knowing they have previous form for it he’s not wanting to join the list of keepers who’ve had death threats along with Karius and Pickford
