Everton: Fans slam Ralph Hasenhuttl’s comments on Jordan Pickford

Loads of Everton fans have slammed comments made by Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl on Jordan Pickford.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the Premier League game between the two clubs, the Austrian claimed that Pickford should have been sent off for his ‘absolutely disastrous’ challenge on Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk in the Merseyside derby.

However, VAR did not deem the ‘horrible’ tackle to be a red card offence in the match and so the England international is available for selection for Carlo Ancelotti against the Saints, while no retrospective action has been taken against him.

Whether Pickford should have been sent off or suspended retrospectively is up for debate, but Hasenhuttl is clearly not happy that the 26-year old is available to play against his team.

Everton fan reaction to Hasenhuttl comments

These members of the Goodison Park faithful slammed the comments made by the Southampton boss, with one Blues supporter branding the remarks as ‘mental’:

Its mental, setting things up for some dodgy decisions. Hopefully the team use this nonsense to deliver a performance and smash Southampton

Yeah why should a club be allowed to play their keeper when he has done nothing wrong in the eyes of the premier league rules. Pure harassment typical Sky. Gutter press.
