Many Everton fans have slammed the latest update on the pursuit of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as talkSPORT reported that the Merseyside club have had a bid of £20m, potentially rising to £25m, for the Southampton man rejected.
As per the outlet, Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in signing the Denmark midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window, but the Saints are holding out for £35m.

Hojbjerg apparently would prefer a move to Spurs but it is the Toffees that seem to have struck first in the possible bidding war for the former Bayern Munich player.
Several members of the Goodison Park faithful have now warned Carlo Ancelotti off of signing Hojbjerg on Twitter after reading his price valuation, and perhaps this is justified given the fact that the 24-year old has zero goals and just one assist in 38 games in all competitions so far in the 2019/20 season, according to Transfermarkt.

For a central midfielder, this is arguably a poor return for a man who may cost as much as £35m, and so it is perhaps not a surprise that these Everton supporters don’t want the Toffees to sign the Danish international – one called for them to instead bring back Idrissa Gueue from Paris Saint-Germain, while another would prefer to see Mason Holgate being redeployed in midfield.
Check out some of the reaction from the Goodison Park faithful:
Put holgate in midfield and look at other options… lets not waste anymore money… and definitely start shifting out the deadwood…

We can't we just get Idrissa back

If that’s the case Everton need to move on….. he have to stop being held to ransom by clubs and players. Especially when we’re buying relatively unproven players. We have to change the culture at the club

If that’s the case we need to leave it and move on, plenty of better options at lower prices. When you’re a midtable club and you buy midtable players, you don’t get much better.
