Everton fans have been criticising Richarlison following his side’s 2-1 defeat against Manchester City on New Year’s Day.

The 22-year-old scored a late goal to half the Toffees’ deficit but it was not enough to salvage any points from the affair. However, he was blasted by fans for his outing as a whole.
Two goals from Gabriel Jesus at the start of the second half within seven minutes had put the game to bed before the Blues could respond.
Despite having already scored seven goals in 21 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season, 2020 got off to a bad start for the Brazil international at the Etihad Stadium.
According to Sofascore, he lost possession 15 times, he did not successfully dribble past any Citizens’ player and he had a pass success rate of just 55%.
Supporters were unconvinced by the performance of the Brazilian and made their feelings clear on social media.
Here you will find some of the best comments from Everton fans:
Sigurdsson received plenty of criticism today. But I am struggling to think of anyone other than Pickford and Mina who had a half decent performance. Richarlison despite scoring, was beyond terrible. Davies, Sidibe, Holgate, all not very good at all.

Richarlison looked miles off it today, worst performance I’ve seen from him. Surely Carlo can see that he needed a rest there today. Think I’ve finally made my mind up on Davies as well, he will sadly never be good enough for the blues.

I continue to have the same question, what is a strength of Davies’ game? There was a big chance to get something from that game but the midfields inability to think quickly and make simple accuracy passes forward failed the team. And despite the goal, Richarlison was poor today

Richarlison poor today, not the only one mind you but miles off his usual standard!

Very poor performance. Richarlison has been particularly inept.

Richarlison was poor yesterday but showed exactly why he should be the first name on the team sheet. The best will score regardless of performance. Priceless#UHTPodcast #EFC #COYB #Everton pic.twitter.com/T7JWfwlpNL
