Everton: Fans stick up for Cenk Tosun after completing loan move to Crystal Palace

Plenty of Everton fans have wished striker Cenk Tosun well after he was loaned out by the club for the remainder of the season, as confirmed by the club’s official website evertonfc.com and tweeted by @Everton.

The Turkey international will spend the rest of 2019/20 on loan at Crystal Palace after struggling for game-time in recent weeks, with only one appearance for the Toffees since Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as the club’s manager last month.

Tosun had started just two league games for Everton this season and managed just one Premier League goal, with a less than prolific record of 10 goals in 51 matches for the club since his £27m arrival from Besiktas two years ago (as per BBC). He had faced criticism from the likes of Charlie Nicholas during his time at Goodison Park, with the Sky Sports pundit saying that he didn’t “offer anything” up front (as per Birmingham Live), and also came under fire from some Toffees fans at times.

However, following the completion of his loan to Crystal Palace, these Everton fans took to Twitter to send their best wishes to the 28-year-old, with some feeling that he was mismanaged under Ancelotti’s predecessor Marco Silva:

Do you think Everton were right to loan out Tosun or should they have held onto him until at least the end of the season? Join in the discussion by commenting below!
