“Everybody wants to play football – I will keep going and train hard and hope I will play again.
“It is nice to have my debut but I am disappointed about the result.”
Indeed, Olsen came into the starting line-up in place of Jordan Pickford against Newcastle United and despite the 2-1 loss at St. James’ Park, the 30-year-old did not disappoint.

He made two saves in the game to keep the scoreline down and his post-shot expected goals minus goals allowed (PSxG+/-) ratio of +0.4 suggests that he had an above-average day in terms of stopping shots (Fbref).

It is perhaps not a surprise then that several members of the Goodison Park faithful would like Olsen to keep his place in between the posts for the Merseyside club against Man Utd.
Everton fan reaction to Olsen comments
These EFC supporters called for Olsen to start versus the Red Devils after reading his comments on Twitter, with one Toffee even claiming that the goalkeeper is ‘top class’:
Superb performance. Absolute class..We need someone with a cool head & a safe pair of hands between the sticks..and that is not Pickford! Hope you get the job full time!
