Everton fans are absolutely thrilled with the news (per the club’s official website) that Mason Holgate has committed his future to the club. The full-back has signed a new five-year deal, securing him to the Toffees until 2025 and many fans are elated, with several branding him the ‘future Everton captain’ and praising the ‘fantastic news’.
The 23-year-old put pen to paper and signed a shiny new contract with Everton, much to the fans’ delight. Holgate has been with the club since 2015– he signed when he was just 19 for £2 million. Since then, he has been on loan with West Brom and has gradually worked his way up into becoming a regular first-team starter.
“The direction the club is going, it is a great club to be at and I am really excited about it,” said Holgate in a recent interview. “I want to win things – and winning some silverware is where I see us.” (via BBC Sport).
As a result, loads of fans are in dreamland as they reflect on the news, with many tipping him to be the future captain of the club. Indeed, one fan has said the Doncaster-born defender will ‘lead them to Champions League glory’.
