Everton fans overwhelmingly believe that Leighton Baines should be crowned as the club’s best player of the decade.
Baines, who joined the club from Wigan Athletic in 2007, has become an iconic figure at Goodison Park over the years and is considered a fan favourite by the Gwladys Street faithful.
His stay at the Merseysiders was almost cut short, as he previously spoke out about a move to Manchester United that did not materialise. However, old-fashioned principles of loyalty kept him at Everton.

He recently scored a 91st-minute screamer that drew his side level against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup to take the game to penalties, only to miss his spot-kick in the shootout as his side bowed out.
Supporters were adamant with their suggestions about Baines and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan believed that any answer other than the Crosby-born icon was “wrong”.
