Some Everton fans have been blasting Abdoulaye Doucoure despite the Goodison Park faithful’s well-earned 1-0 win versus Chelsea at home in the Premier League last night.

Gylfi Sigurdsson gave the Merseyside club the win with a goal from the penalty spot midway through the first half as Carlo Ancelotti’s team held their own to claim what could be a crucial three points come the end of the 2020/21 term.

Will Doucoure be a good signing for Everton?

Although there were some very stellar displays from the majority of the Toffees camp, the performance of Doucoure was questioned at times by some supporters.

The central midfield player lost out on no fewer than seven of his duels, and he also failed to record a single shot, dribble, key pass, cross or long ball in the game, earning him a quite measly 6.7 overall rating on Sofascore, the lowest out of all of his teammates that started the match.

I watched Doucouré second half just to figure out what he does. Aside from filling in holes in our defence, not much else. Got caught out if position, never asked to to receive a pass and Chelsea players ghosted pass him when he ventured into a more avanced midfield position. 🤔
