Everton are one of the clubs who are keeping tabs on Brighton and Hove Albion right-back Tariq Lamptey.
While Lamptey has signed a new contract at Brighton, it has been reported that the new deal may not put off potential suitors in the future.
Should Everton make a summer move for Lamptey?

The Athletic have recently reported that while Lamptey has signed a new contract which will see him earn £40,000 per week, that deal won’t put a spanner in the works for any club who are potentially looking to sign him. Everton are one of the clubs named as being admirers of the right-back, as are Arsenal and Manchester City.
The report states that the news contract has ended any chances of Lamptey departing Brighton in January, but the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Man City were all aware that he was unlikely to leave during this month anyway.
It also says that Brighton are likely not stand in the way of Lamptey if a suitable offer arrives for him in the future and that their asking price will be the same as it was before.
Lamptey has been praised by Graham Potter, who said: “He’s a selfless character who just wants to work hard. I’m sure there are 20-year-olds that are like that, but maybe there are one or two that aren’t.”
Lamptey would be a great move for Everton
Lamptey has made 11 Premier League appearances for Brighton this season. He has scored once, picking up four goal contributions already. He has three assists to his name. He has been the club’s joint-third best rated player in the campaign with a rating of 6.73 (as per Whoscored).
So to get rid of any uncertainties in the right-back spot, Lamptey would be a great signing for the Toffees. He adds quality to the team and the has potential to develop into an even better player down the line.
