Some Everton fans have been left to discuss a transfer update from Fabrizio Romano on the future of Arkadiusz Milik.
The Poland international has recently been linked with a move to Goodison Park in this month’s window, but the latest update from Romano may have just hindered their chances of signing him.
Does Milik start for Everton?
As per the Italian football journalist and transfer guru, the sporting director at Napoli Cristiano Giuntoli has told Sky Sport that the Serie A club are ‘in talks’ with Marseille over a potential loan deal with an obligation to buy, worth a total of €11m (£9.8m) including add-ons.
The Gwladys Street prompted a discussion among some supporters of the Merseyside club over the reported transfer fee on their Twitter page, and it fair to say that the replies were very mixed.
While the fee is relatively minimal, and the Toffees could do with a back-up striker to ease the goal-scoring burden off of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Milik has no experience playing in the Premier League and so is not guaranteed to work out.
Everton fan reaction to Milik update
These Blues gave some fairly mixed reactions to the update on Twitter:
“I would take him over Zirkzee right now. Zirkzee smells like another Moise Kean to me, doesn’t want to work to be the best, wants to be at a top club with other players doing the hard stuff for him. Zirkzee just got hyped because of a couple of goals in 1 game as a young player”
“I don’t know. I feel Zirkzee would be a better option. Imo Milik would be a good option I just think Zirkzee would be a better one.”
“Missing the boat here @Everton”
“Rather have Zirkzee”
“That’s a bargain that, why aren’t we going in for him?”
“Player on a downward spiral”
