Many Everton fans have been left fuming at the news from Carlo Ancelotti that Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not play at home to Manchester City.
The Toffees boss said: “Not available for sure are Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Gbamin, The others are all okay and will train today. For Dominic I think it’s a matter of days. We hope he will be available on Saturday.”
It is no doubt a big blow for the Merseyside club to be without their talisman for the game at Goodison Park, given that he has already scored no fewer than 18 goals and made a further four assists in just 25 matches in total in all competitions so far in the 2020/21 term (Transfermarkt).

With Pep Guardiola’s men sitting very pretty at the top of the pile in the Premier League, coupled up with their red-hot form, it makes the task of getting any points out of the game for Carlo Ancelotti’s team even more difficult with Calvert-Lewin’s absence.
Nonetheless, it may be an opportunity for January signing Josh King to step up to the plate, although they are some very big boots to fill.
