Everton: Fans fume as James Rodriguez and Seamus Coleman set to miss Southampton game

Many Everton fans have been left fuming as both James Rodriguez and Seamus Coleman are set to miss the Southampton game through injury.

As per the Toffees’ official website, Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that a mistimed tackle from Liverpool central defender Virgil van Dijk in the Merseyside derby has meant that the Colombia international will not be available for the match against the Saints.

Coleman also picked up an injury from the game and was consequently subbed off in the first half, as Ancelotti has now confirmed that the Republic of Ireland international will likely miss the match at St. Mary’s Stadium as well.

The double injury setback may come as a blow to the Toffees given the players’ respective contributions so far in 2020/21.

Nonetheless, the Blues will now have to find a way to win against Southampton without two of their key players.
