Many Everton fans have been lauding an injury update on Lucas Digne ahead of their match versus Manchester City in the Premier League.
As per quotes from the official website of the Goodison Park faithful, Carlo Ancelotti has said that the France international is “making really good progress” and added that he thinks that he will be ready to play again “at the end of January”.
Is Digne the best left-back in the Premier League?
The Italian boss also admitted that he is “really surprised” about the speed of his recovery as the left-back could now be back playing for the Merseyside club as early as next month.
This is very good news for the Toffees given what Digne can offer them going forward, as the 27 year-old has won no fewer than 5.4 of his duels a game in the Premier League so far in the 2020/21 term, as well as averaging a rather impressive three clearances, two key passes and 1.8 tackles per match on top of his four assists (Sofascore).
Everton fan reaction to Digne news
These EFC supporters lauded the news of Digne’s recovery on Twitter, with one Blue calling it ‘excellent’ while another even claimed that he will be their ‘future captain’:
“It will be like a new signing”
“Boss news, I always think how fast players recover is a way of telling how much they want to play for our club. Future captain.”
“Digne and Allan back in January James and Richarlison back for West Ham… life is good blues”
“Superb recovery from Digne”
“It will be massive to get him back. In the meantime we’ve just got to battle through the injury trouble. Thankfully we’ve done okay so far.”
