Everton: Fans rage at Carlo Ancelotti decision to start Fabian Delph versus Burnley - Everton News

Some Everton fans have been left raging at the decision by Carlo Ancelotti to start Fabian Delph versus Burnley at Turf Moor in the Premier League on Saturday.

As per the official Twitter page of the Goodison Park faithful, the 31 year-old started in the left wing-back role, with Alex Iwobi occupying the right wing-back position.

Yerry Mina, captain Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey started as the three central defenders ahead of Jordan Pickford in between the sticks for the Merseyside club – they couldn’t keep out an early opener for the hosts from Robbie Brady.

Both Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure are playing in the heart of the midfield for the Toffees, with James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison making up the front three.

Jonas Lossl, Mason Holgate, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Tom Davies, Andre Gomes, Bernard and Cenk Tosun make up the bench for the Blues against Sean Dyche’s side, meaning there is no place for Niels Nkounkou.

Delph was then forced off with an apparent hamstring injury just before half time, making it seem an even more troublesome decision not to have Nkounkou in the squad, so much so the manager had to change his system entirely after the problem for Delph, introducing Andre Gomes and switching to a back four.
