Many Everton fans have been lauding a transfer link to Ivan Toney as Calcio Mercato have reported that the young striker is on the notebook of the Goodison Park faithful.

The Merseyside club may be looking for a back-up striker to the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison in case either player gets suspended, injured or just need a break, and Toney may well fit the bill.

Would Toney be a good signing for Everton?

The Englishman has scored no fewer than 13 goals and has also made a handy two assists in 15 games in the EFL Championship so far in the 2020/21 term (Transfermarkt), as he will no doubt be pushing for a move up to the Premier League in the near future.

Carlo Ancelotti may look to snap him up in the January transfer window if he is available for a set price, as he could provide another goal threat for the Toffees in the top flight.

About time we started gambling on hungry young lower league players again tbh. Look at Watkins with Villa and Bowen at West Ham; players desperate to show they’re good enough at the top level rather than the likes of Gylfi and Tosun who are happy just to make up the numbers
