Everton: Jean-Philippe Gbamin ‘desperate’ to get back for Carlo Ancelotti as Toffees react

Everton: Jean-Philippe Gbamin ‘desperate’ to get back for Carlo Ancelotti as Toffees react - Everton News

According to an in-depth report by journalist Patrick Boyland of the Athletic, Everton midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin is ‘desperate‘ to get back and prove his worth for the Toffees after 18 months on the sidelines – with supporters reacting to this claim as he looks set to finally return some time in the next month.

Carlo Ancelotti provided the latest update on Gbamin in a press conference on Friday, with the Everton boss confirming that Gbamin will start first-team training sometime in the next ’10-15 days’ (Liverpool Echo).

Boyland, following on from that update, has provided a behind the scenes glimpse into his recovery and how football’s postponement due to coronavirus last year delayed his long-awaited comeback (The Athletic).

The journalist also claimed that Gbamin is ‘desperate’ to get back to the first team and prove his worth as a Toffees player – nearly two years after signing for £25 million from Mainz in the summer of 2019 (BBC).

Flocking to this claim, plenty of Toffees had their say on Gbamin – with one claiming he can be ‘like a new signing’ when he returns whilst others dropped their wide array of verdicts.

“Enjoyed this update re: Gbamin. Demystifying what’s happening behind the scenes of his rehab reminds you that the guy is a real life human being and not simply a tragic meme. Really hope he comes good.”

“I’ve seen him play for Mainz and he is a monster defensively. I’sd also say he’s as quick as Godfrey.
We get him right and it will free up Allan to move forward more and play his natural game”
