In an exclusive interview with The Transfer Tavern, former Wigan Athletic and Derby County manager Paul Jewell has hailed Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s performances for Everton this season, amid interest from Man United.
Calvert-Lewin is currently experiencing his best season in front of goal as working under Duncan Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti appears to have taken the England international to the next level.
Is Calvert-Lewin worth £80 million?
The 24-year old has been the subject of a transfer enquiry from Manchester United, who are on the lookout for a striker alongside Edinson Cavani, but Everton have reportedly slapped an £80 million price tag on their star striker.
Speaking on how good Calvert-Lewin has been this season and what he has been able to add to his game this season to make him a better striker, Jewell exclusively told The Transfer Tavern:
“He’s been a revelation for Everton this season and I think a lot of that is down to confidence because especially for strikers, goals breathe confidence into them.
“Calvert-Lewin has added everything to his game this season, he’s quick, aggressive in the air and brings others into play. So yeah, he’s been terrific this season.”
Everton still have an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa League as Ancelotti continues to turn the Toffees into a regular Premier League force.
The £20,000 per week striker managed to start the season in the form of his life as he netted 11 goals in his first 11 league games but since then he has only scored five more times in the league.
