Fabrizio Romano has dropped a pretty damning transfer update involving Everton and their pursuit of Moises Caicedo.
As per a tweet from the Italian football journalist and transfer guru, the Goodison Park faithful, as well as West Ham United, Chelsea and MLS club Atlanta United, are ‘not close’ to signing the central midfield player at this moment in time.
Should Everton sign Caicedo?
However, Romano added that the race for his signature is still open, although Manchester United have decided that they do not want to sign him.
In an added transfer update, he also revealed that Brighton and Hove Albion have submitted an official bid to sign the Ecuador international from Independiente del Valle, which they are apparently open to accept.
Caicedo would be a good signing for Everton
Given the long list of clubs that are seemingly interested in signing Caicedo, added to the official bid submitted by the Seagulls, the Merseyside club really need to act fast if they are serious about wanting to sign the highly-rated prospect.
South American football expert Tim Vickery recently described him as a ‘terrific athlete’, and with four senior caps for his country already in addition to 31 matches played for his club at the tender age of just 19 (Transfermarkt), Caicedo seems like an ideal signing that Carlo Ancelotti could certainly improve and get the best out of.
