Many Everton fans have been reacting to a transfer link to Demarai Gray following a recent report from 90min that stated that the Goodison Park faithful are interested in signing the Leicester City man.
However, as per the news outlet, Spurs, Southampton and Crystal Palace are also interested in his signature, while there is also significant interest from teams from abroad as he becomes a free agent at the end of the 2020/21 term.
Should Everton sign Gray?
Given that he could be available on a free transfer in the summer if he is not already snapped up in the January transfer window, it could be a good bit of business for the Merseyside club to snap him up, with his resale value potentially still quite high given that he is still only 24 years of age.
However, the England U21 international has only played in a mere five games in all competitions so far this season, and so could be lacking match fitness and sharpness.
Everton fan reaction to Gray link
These EFC supporters gave some very mixed reactions to the link to Gray on Twitter, with one Toffee saying that he ‘reminds me of Adama Traore’ in terms of a lack of end product (Gray has just one assist this campaign, Traore has none), while another Blue claimed that he has got to be ‘better than Bernard’, who only has seven goals and seven assists from 72 matches in all competitions for the Toffees (Transfermarkt).
“No thank you. Thought this guy was going to be big as watched him play for Brum. His end product has always been lacking/inconsistent. Reminds me of Adama Traore, when he does all the work, then neglects to look up.”
