Lots of Everton fans have been urging the Merseyside club to snap up Ryan Fraser on a free transfer after the AFC Bournemouth ace has reportedly rejected a short term contract offer from the south coast team.
Would Fraser be a good signing for Everton?
As per the Cherries’ official website, Simon Francis, Andrew Surman, Artur Boruc and Charlie Daniels have all agreed to extend their contracts for the short term to cover the remaining nine games of their 2019/20 Premier League season. However, Fraser has declined to follow his teammates, therefore putting his immediate future in doubt.
The Toffee Blues asked on their Twitter page whether their followers would take the 26-year old at the club following the breaking news, and it seemed as if several Blues urged Carlo Ancelotti’s side to sign him up.
Indeed, it was reported by 90min earlier in the year that Everton had joined the race to sign the Scot this summer, alongside Merseyside rivals Liverpool and others.
One EFC supporter even claimed that the Scottish international would be an ‘improvement over Bernard and Iwobi’, and judging by each of their stats so far in this campaign, you can see why.
Fraser has recorded more assists and averages more key passes and crosses out of all three, according to Whoscored.
Perhaps it is not a surprise given that no transfer fee would be paid for him that these supporters urged the club to sign him:
For free I’d take him , but he is just a bit meh, don’t think he’s an improvement over Bernard or iwobi on the left. If he can play on the right I’d take him.

Hundred percent. Bolasie and possibly Walcott out, Fraser in for depth but id say we’d still need another right winger and attacking midfielder with more quality. Cant deal with another season of Gylfi slowing everything down.

On a free. Definitely. He will be snapped up quickly.

Have him as a squad player – the problem we have is we need at min 21 players to leave this summer that’s being generous and keeping 17ish
