Everton are reportedly leading the way to sign Sami Khedira in the January transfer window, according to Calcio Mercato.
As per the news outlet, the central midfield player will not be called up by Andrea Pirlo, and wants to move elsewhere in order to play more regular first-team football.
Would Khedira be a good signing by Everton?
He apparently has a particular focus on the Premier League, recently speaking publicly about his admiration for both Carlo Ancelotti and Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.
However, it is the Goodison Park faithful who have reportedly taken the most important steps in terms of acquiring his services, and therefore supposedly lead the way if other clubs come knocking at the door of Juventus for his signature.
Ancelotti admires Khedira
Ancelotti is a big admirer of Khedira having recently admitted to the media in a press conference that he would like to work with the Germany international.
The 33 year-old has certainly had a fine career at the top of the beautiful game, having won both the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA World Cup with Germany and Real Madrid respectively, and would provide a lot of experience in the dressing room.
He can also still be ‘world class’ on his day too, and would no doubt be wanting to prove that he can still move about the pitch even at his age now.
