Many Everton fans have been left fuming over some transfer news on Philippe Coutinho that may have gone slightly under-the-radar.

Replying to a fan in a Twitter thread asking if the FC Barcelona midfield player was going to be moving to Brazilian club Palmeiras, Italian football journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed in the early hours of Thursday morning that the Goodison Park faithful are among a number of clubs 'considering' a move, and that he is planning to stay in Europe as a priority.

Of course, Coutinho will be remembered for his successful spell at Liverpool, where he scored no fewer than 54 goals and made a further 45 assists in 201 matches in total across all competitions during his time at Anfield (Transfermarkt).

Unsurprisingly, some Toffees supporters would not be happy with his Reds connection should he sign, after so many made their feelings abundantly clear when it was first rumoured that ex-LFC manager Rafa Benitez would join.

Coutinho is also 29 years of age now, and judging by his underwhelming goals and assists record at Barca, he looks to be past his best.
