According to a report from the Daily Express, Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti looks set to take advantage of an agreement between Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson and his club’s board in order to land the Frenchman and bring him to Goodison Park – resulting in many Toffees supporters since becoming overjoyed.
Sanson, who has scored 22 goals and assisted 18 others from midfield over 136 outings for the Ligue 1 outfit (Transfermarkt), apparently made an agreement with the Marseille board that he would sign a contract extension in 2018 upon the condition he would be allowed to leave at the end of this season. As a result, with the summer window looming, Ancelotti looks likely to take advantage of that deal and land the 25-year-old star.
Compared to current Toffees central midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, Sanson has amassed a higher pass accuracy (85.9%) whilst having more shots per game (1.5), as per WhoScored.com – indicating he could be a worthy stand-in for the Icelandic international.
