Our Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern have enjoyed this season so far and are confident that they will be playing in Europe come the start of 2017/18.
Indeed, the Toffees have been going well this season – particularly since the turn in the year – and had they a bit more luck at times we could be talking about them as genuine top four contenders.
Certainly, many Blues here by the bar still think that a top four finish isn’t completely out of the question this season whilst it’s definitely possible next year with the right recruitment.
That, though, needs to be combined with keeping hold of their best stars in the summer and so John Cross’ latest post on Twitter about Seamus Coleman will surely be welcomed:
Question: Are you looking at Seamus Coleman as a replacement for Lahm?
Ancelotti: No.

Coleman really is a huge player for the Toffees and their style of play and has been for some time now.
Losing him at the peak of his powers would surely be a blow to their Champions League aspirations, then, but it looks like they’re going to get away with it for now at least.
