Everton fans here in the Transfer Tavern are in a state of disbelief, with reports from the Daily Mail that Romelu Lukaku has told the club he will not sign a new contract with them filtering in.
The Toffees’ Belgian forward has been in stunning form of late, with his weekend goal taking his Premier League tally to 19 this season, and many believed he would commit to fresh terms after his agent, Mino Raiola, told talkSPORT that a renewed deal was “99.99999999%” certain.

However, the Telegraph have since claimed that a dispute surrounding the release clause that would be put into this had caused some issues and now the Daily Mail are reporting that Lukaku has had a change of heart and will not put pen to paper.
It’s understood that a £100,000-per-week contract was on the table and that the club were expecting him to sign, but the 23-year-old let the Merseysiders know of his decision after training today.
Lukaku has two and a bit years remaining on his initial Everton terms and it appears likely some of the giants of the European game will come calling for him this summer if he does not have a change of heart.
