Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are pleased with the progress their club has made this season under Ronald Koeman, and are now dreaming of pushing into the top-four next season.
If the Toffees are to contend for a Champions League spot, the Dutch boss needs to ensure his summer activity is up to scratch – especially with the likely scenario of seeing Romelu Lukaku leave Goodison Park.
Everton have plans in motion though and The Liverpool Echo states former chairman Ben Kenwright, who remains involved with the club, is using his connections in Belgian to help seal a deal for Anderlecht youngster Youri Tielemans.
Those claims go hand-in-hand with reports from Sport/Voetbal Magazine, cited by TalkSport, who indicate the Toffees have set aside £21m to beat the likes of Monaco to the Belgian youngster’s signature.
Just 19-year-olds, Tielemans has accumulated over 170 appearances for Anderlecht and has been capped three times by Belgium’s senior squad, with our landlord stating he expects the teenager to become a big hit in the future.
Should Tielemans be Everton’s priority this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
