Everton: Speedo Mick’s Liverpool Citizen of Honour award excites loads of Toffees supporters

Responding to an update from Everton’s official account of Toffees fan and fundraiser Michael Cullen being nominated for a Liverpool Citizen of Honour award, many supporters have gushed over the news regarding their fellow Blue – taking to Twitter and lauding his ‘outstanding‘ achievements.

Cullen, going by the nickname ‘Speedo Mick’, walked 1,000 miles from John O’Groats to Lands’ End in barely anything but his briefs for charity – raising more than £350,000 in the process. His own charity ‘Leave the Light On‘, centred around helping disadvantaged young people, putting a particular emphasis on mental health issues, has seen more than 17,000 individual donations since his journey across the country began.

Cullen battled both Storm Ciara and Dennis on the way to reaching his goal, with the 55-year-old now being nominated for a Liverpool Citizen of Honour award for enriching the vision of his home city. As a result, many Toffees supporters have lauded their fellow Blue on social media, here’s what they had to say.
