Everton would be stupid to sign these 2 players this month – Agreed?

Ronald Koeman’s Everton have enjoyed a decent Premier League season so far but they have plenty of work to do if they are to keep pace with the top six in the division.

The Toffees sit someway off Manchester United in sixth place but haven’t messed around in their attempts to bolster their squad for the second half of the campaign.

Conveniently enough, Koeman has recently pulled off a great bit of business, bringing in French midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin from the Red Devils only this week.

And whilst this represents are really good but of business, there is plenty of thought here in the Tavern that the Toffees should be staying away from some names that have already been linked with the club.

They need to get their transfers right this January but a couple of wrong moves and their season could be in tatters.

So with that in mind, here’s 2 players Everton would be stupid to sign this month – agreed?

Saido Berahino

There’s little doubting the quality that Saido Berahino has in his locker and the difference he can make for West Brom – when he’s in-form and playing with a smile on his face.

Sadly, he’s a young man that doesn’t seem to be as focused on his career as he perhaps should be and that makes him a dangerous signing for any side in the division.

Everton have a good squad on the books at Goodison Park and bringing in a player who could quickly upset the balance within the spine of the team is always a dangerous move.

On this occasion, Koeman should look elsewhere instead of following up on The Daily Mail’s report.

Jonathan Cafu

Bringing in players from widely unknown leagues is always a dangerous game but for Everton, the risk is all-the-more intensified when you look at their transfer dealings over the past couple of seasons.

Roberto Martinez made arguably the biggest transfer blunder of the season last campaign after signing Oumar Niasse from the Russian Premier League and he proved to be a massive waste of money.

And with reports now linking the Toffees with Ludogorets winger Jonathan Cafu, there should be plenty of caution in the air before the Toffees press forward with a big money bid for a player who has been elusive until this campaign.
